This page explains what information The Lakes Media collects through this website, why we collect it, who we share it with and what you can do about it. We have written it in plain language on purpose.

1. Who we are

The Lakes Media is a marketing agency based in Miami, Florida. We serve local businesses and personal brands across South Florida and in Dallas, Texas. When this policy says "we", "us" or "our", it means The Lakes Media. This policy covers thelakesmedia.com and any page on it.

2. Information you give us

When you fill out a form on this site, or email or call us, you choose to give us information about yourself and your business. That normally includes:

  • Your name
  • Your email address
  • Your phone number
  • Your business name
  • The service you are interested in and the budget range you select
  • Anything else you write in the message field

You decide what to send us. If you would rather not share something in a form, contact us directly and tell us only what you are comfortable sharing.

3. Information collected automatically

Like most websites, this one records some technical information when you visit, whether or not you fill out anything. That includes your IP address, the type of browser and device you are using, the pages you view, how long you stay, and the site or ad that sent you here.

4. Cookies and similar technologies

Cookies are small files a website stores in your browser. This site uses three kinds:

  • Essential cookies set by our hosting platform, Webflow, so the site loads and the forms work. The site cannot function without these.
  • Analytics cookies from Google Analytics, which tell us how many people visit, which pages they read and where they came from. We use this to understand what is working, not to identify you personally.
  • Advertising cookies from the Meta Pixel (Facebook and Instagram) and Google Ads. These let us measure whether our own campaigns produce results, and show ads to people who have already visited this site.

5. How we use your information

  • To answer you and schedule your strategy session
  • To prepare a proposal and, if you hire us, to deliver the work
  • To send you information about our services when you have asked for it
  • To measure and improve our own advertising and this website
  • To keep normal business records and meet our legal obligations

We do not use what you tell us in a form to build advertising audiences for other companies.

6. Who we share it with

We share information only with the companies that help us run the business, and only as much as they need. Today that means our website host and form provider (Webflow), our email provider, our analytics provider (Google) and our advertising platforms (Meta and Google). We may also disclose information if the law requires it, or if the business is ever sold or merged.

We do not sell your personal information for money. Be aware that under some state privacy laws, the use of advertising cookies can itself count as "selling" or "sharing" information. If that concerns you, the next section explains how to switch it off.

7. Your choices

  • Your browser settings let you block or delete cookies at any time. Blocking essential cookies may break parts of the site.
  • Most browsers and mobile devices offer a "Do Not Track" or limit ad tracking setting.
  • You can adjust what Meta and Google use for ad targeting inside your own account settings on those platforms.
  • If we ever email you, every message will have an unsubscribe link, and it will work.

8. Your rights

You can ask us what information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Write to info@thelakesmedia.com and we will handle it. We will not treat you differently for asking.

9. How long we keep it

We keep what you send us for as long as we need it to answer you, to do the work you hired us for, and to keep records of our business relationship. If you ask us to delete your information and we are not required to keep it, we will.

10. Security

This site is served over an encrypted connection and our providers apply their own security measures. No website can promise perfect security, and we will not pretend otherwise. Please do not send sensitive information such as financial account numbers or identification documents through the contact form.

11. Children

This site is meant for business owners and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children. If you believe a child has sent us information, contact us and we will delete it.

12. Links to other sites

Our site links to other websites and social media profiles. Once you leave this site, their privacy practices apply, not ours.

13. Changes to this policy

If our practices change, we will update this page and change the date at the top. Significant changes will be noted here rather than made quietly.

14. Contact us

Questions about this policy, or about the information we hold on you, go to info@thelakesmedia.com.
